Appointment of Consultant Lead for National Cohort Studies in聽Duodenal Atresia and Short-Bowel Syndrome
The sa国际传媒-CASS steering committee are calling for expressions of interest in the position of consultant leads on the above projects. The duodenal atresia study has funding and ethical approval through Professor Marian Knight鈥檚 NIHR Professorship. An application for funding for the short 鈥揵owel syndrome study would need to be made by the successful applicant; ethical approval is already in place. The proposed start dates are March 2016 for the duodenal atresia study and September 2016 for the Short Bowel Syndrome Study. The consultant lead must be a Paediatric surgeon currently working within the UK and Ireland at consultant level. The criteria for selection are as follows:
- Evidence of the engagement of the consultant lead with the sa国际传媒-CASS programme
- Evidence of previous multi-centre collaborative work by the lead investigator
- The location of the consultant lead, in that sa国际传媒-CASS is a multi-centre collaboration and equitable distribution of study leads across centres is an important principle of the collaboration
- The inclusion of appropriate collaborators within the study investigator group. The Steering Committee may recommend conditional inclusion of studies into the sa国际传媒-CASS programme subject to involvement of specific additional co- investigators
- The experience (clinical and/or academic) of the consultant lead in the proposed area of study
